Antique Truck Parts

Trucks have been around for a while. In fact the first motor truck was built
by the German automotive pioneer Gottlieb Daimler way back October 1, 1896. That
same day, the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) in Cannstatt near Stuttgart recorded
this motorized good as the world's first truck. It had an engine installed at
the rear capable of producing a 4 hp in a two-cylinder engine, weighing 1,200
kilograms for carrying a load of 1,500 kilograms, and a belt drive with two forward
speeds and one reverse. The world's first truck looked like a horse-drawn cart
without a drawbar. The driver was seated on the coach box ahead of the front axle,
out in the open air. From then on, the race to build the best truck on the road
was on the way.
The following years paved the evolution of the truck from a horse-drawn looking
cart into a more vehicle type. Several car manufacturers like Ford, Buick, Dodge,
and Chevy created their own versions. By the turn of the 20th century, these manufacturers
developed faster and stronger engines which resulted into the revolutionized industry
by creating top class and quality trucks in the infancy stage of automotive life.
As a result, the popularity of the truck grew.

Several models had been made that created much impact in the year they were made.
