Classic Cadillac Parts
General Motors used Cadillac to introduce the tail fin because they believed
the prestige of Cadillac would make the radical styling idea, the tail fin, acceptable
to all consumers. Most Cadillacs have been maintained well, and it is often possible
to find ones with very few miles. Cadillacs are loaded with just about ever feature
and convenience in the book. Finding a car in which everything works may be a
challenge.

Cadillac has long been considered the premier American car manufacturer. Kennedy
used Cadillacs, as did Elvis. Today, many of the cars are surprisingly affordable.
An interesting example of Cadillac's awareness of trends is that there are no
center pillars on any 1957 model. All coupes and sedans are so-called hardtops.
This will be true throughout the industry before long. The All New Cruciform frame
enabled Cadillac to produce different wheelbase vehicles, yet retain the same
frame. The center section was enlarged and lengthened. This design was worked
into other G.M. brands until the early sixties. Although cheaper to make and lighter
in weight, the frame often was criticized for its lack of strength and the fact
that it would not protect a passenger during a side impact collision.

Standard Parts of the 1959 Cadillac El Dorado are power windows, power went windows,
electric door locks, 6-way power seat, Air suspension, remote control trunk lock,
heating, radio, white wall tyres. fog lamps, 3:21 rear axle ratio and Tripower
carburetors. 1978 Eldorado Custom Biarritz Classic Cadillac was to commemorate
the last year of the large Eldorados. The Classic is sometimes called the collectors
edition. Of the 2,000 Classics produced, 500 came with retractable sunroofs. The
engine was a cast iron block and head V-8 with displacement of 425 cubic inches
(7.0 liters). The engine had a compression ratio of 8.2:1 and developed 180 horsepower
at 4,000 rpm.
